The VK3503 Quick Response, Standard Coverage, Upright, K8.0 (115) Sprinkler, pre-assembled with a guard, is intended to be installed in new commercial buildings that are constructed without a defined ceiling or wall layout, while potentially awaiting a tenant fit-out. This XT1 sprinkler platform, with the addition of its 1" NPT thread, provides contractors with another connection size to match system design and piping configurations better. If the tenant later installs a ceiling below the original piping height, the 1" XT1 sprinkler can be removed, and sprinkler piping or flexible connections can be installed to match the new ceiling height and configuration. This replaces the previous method of installing a 1" outlet that required a bushing or bell reducer.
